Singapore – Interior Design Confederation of Singapore (IDCS) has announced the launch of the inaugural Interior Design Festival Singapore (IDFS). Held from 4-11 March 2017, the festival is a part of Singapore Design Week 2017.

Programmes in the festival include a range of industry events to help professionals learn more about their profession and from industry peers, and public events to raise the general awareness and understanding of Interior Design as a profession. In order to bring more meaningful events across to a wider sector of the public and industry professionals, IDCS has partnered with Houzz, a globally-used platform for home renovation and interior design, as well as Renovation and Decoration Advisory Centre (RADAC), to co-host talks and panel discussions.

A key event for the industry is the signing of the Interior Designers Code of Professional Conduct. This will be Singapore’s first-ever consolidated effort to attain a pledge and commitment from Interior Design firms and professionals to uphold the values and ethos of the profession. The signing will be held on 9 March 2017 from 4 to 6pm at VLV, the main venue for the IDFS.

As for public events, IDCS will hold their first Interior Design Exhibition showcasing the works of Gold Winners from the prestigious Design Excellence Awards conducted in October 2016 and two living room style chats for members of the public to understand and get to know more about the profession and what it means for them. These public events will be held on the first weekend of the Singapore Design Week, on 4 and 5 March 2017 between 12 to 6pm.
