Singapore – Playpoint (Singapore) Pte Ltd has installed the first interactive family park for Block 330 in Yishun River Green HDB estate in Singapore. The interactive playground incorporates the first interactive light installation by Jen Lewin, Crooked Houses by Monstrum as well as the Hammock Trellis.
The Mini Pool consists of 16 individual pads placed in the playground surface in two small installations that interact with a wash of colours to the delight of children and families.
At the centre of the playground lies a spiderweb-like structure where kids can clamour onto via a tunnel and reward themselves with a quick descent down the slide. Not forgetting, the Crooked Houses, by Monstrum known for the whimsical designs, are slightly slanted and play on the structure is entirely left up to the imagination of the kids. The huge and tall slide only adds to the fun factor!
Commenting on the installation, Mr Jason Sim, Managing Director, Playpoint (Singapore) Pte Ltd said: “The playground marks a new trend where we incorporate interactive lights installation, play hills and cool play sculptures, never seen in public housing before. This was the initiative of Nee Soon Town Council and SA Chua Architects Pte Ltd, who wanted an interesting playground instead of the cookie cutter playgrounds found everywhere.”
The Pool was recently showcased at the i Light Marina Bay 2015 Festival in Singapore.
Founded in 2001, Playpoint has grown to be a regional playground specialist in Asia designing playground for iconic developments. It has recently won the 2015 LIAS Award for Playground.
