Gurugram, India – Rachna Agarwal, the principal architect and founder of Gurugram-based architectural and interior design Studio IAAD, has been honoured with the Realty+ Women Icon Awards 2021 in the ‘Women Achievers in Leading Flexispaces’ category.

The Woman Icon Awards commemorates women achievers who have excelled in different fields and contributed to society with their outstanding performance and perseverance. Women stalwarts of Indian real estate, finance, design and construction segments came together to deliberate on the industry’s future prospects.

As the world grappled with the pandemic, Agarwal realised there Flexispaces were the need of the hour. Homes had become a refuge and offices trying to optimise every inch of precious space. Flexispaces could accommodate varied shifting needs of the constantly evolving and changing world, whether social or environmental. The pandemic triggered the demand for malleable, movable and multi-purpose interiors that adapt to evolving needs of its environment for multiple retail and office spaces. Carefully curated with an agile approach towards architecture and design, Agarwal has created truly innovative, configurable, functional spaces that meet the demands of the ever-fast, developing occupant needs. These include Godrej South Estate, Hands Carpet showroom, Corporatedge Office, Crayons office and Emaar DigiHomes to name a few.

Rachna said: “It is incumbent upon architects to shift from the paradigms of confined design and make it adaptive rather than static. Spaces that are nurturing and yet reflect a deep understanding of its character.”

Epitomising avant-garde design narratives, Rachna crafts Flexispaces that conjure a sensorial and memorable spatial experience which finds its origins in the purity and integrity of the interiors.
