Dassault Systèmes showcases latest innovations at its annual 3DEXPERIENCE FORUM in Singapore

Singapore – Dassault Systèmes, the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, world leader in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, 3D design software and 3D Digital Mock Up, presented its latest innovations at the annual 3DEXPERIENCE FORUM on 17 June 2014 at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore.

At the event, the company demonstrated how it is empowering businesses and organisations to innovate through the combination of social innovation capabilities, realistic 3D virtual experiences and intelligent search-based technologies on a single platform – the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE FORUM brought together the company’s customers and partners from across the region, offering a platform for knowledge sharing and networking. This year, the event was focused on Doing Business in the Age of Experience.

At the 3DEXPERIENCE FORUM, Dassault Systèmes’ demonstrated its offerings designed for specific industries:
1) Energy, Process and Utilities
2) Transportation and Mobility
3) Aerospace and Defense
4) Natural Resources

Dr Christopher Holmes, head of IDC Manufacturing Insights, spoke on trends that the analyst house is seeing around this development: “All industries are currently going through a revolutionary era where technology is enabling them to be more agile, efficient and innovative.

“Industry players are entering the third platform where big data and analytics, cloud computing, mobility and social business, are acting as disruptive forces – enabling new business models, creating opportunities for new competitors, and allowing customers and consumers to engage in an entirely different way,” he continued.

Customers, Dassault Systemes executives and partners also shared their success and best practices to drive sustainable growth. Mr Pablo Viejo, Sustainable Cities Chief Officer for Singapore, Electricite de France (EDF) demonstrated the success of its city planning applications based on the 3DEXPERIENCity Platform while Associate Professor Dr Mohd Razif Idris, Dean of Institute of Product Design and Manufacturing, Universiti of Kuala Lumpur spoke about adapting the curriculum of engineering education on industry skills requirements as part of the MoU signed between Dassault Systemes and MARA.

The three industry breakout sessions on Aerospace & Defense, Transportation & Mobility and Natural Resources had an exciting line up of speakers from both the industry such as Australian Aerospace, Mt Gibson, Russell Mineral Equipment, Fugro and the partners’ community such as Memko and ADN.

Additionally, an onsite Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE Playground offered attendees live demos and virtual experiences. The Wall of 3DEXPERIENCE provided an interactive and entertaining showcase of its 3DEXPERIENCity application and selected projects from Passion for Innovation Institute such as D-Day, Paris 3D, La Douce and Operation Lune.
